Fear - A Guiding Light on Your Path of Becoming
What if I told you that the very thing you fear is the gateway to everything you desire?
For so long, we've been conditioned to see fear as a stop sign, a signal that we're off path or out of alignment. I know I used to feel this way, and still sometimes these old beliefs arise. When fear arises, I notice my body contract. When I let the fear into my field, I begin to feel small and retreat. Fear felt like a solid wall, a sign to turn around and return to what I had known. But I've come to see fear in a new light, and this reframe has been a powerful, life-changing contemplation.
Fear isn't a block. It's a compass.
Fear is leading you directly to your next level of growth, your greatest gifts, and your deepest desires. The bigger the fear you feel toward something, the greater the importance of that thing for your personal growth and evolution. The greater the opportunity.
Think about it:
Fear is an illusion. The only two frequencies in the universe are love and fear. Anything that isn't love is fear—and it’s an illusion designed to keep you disconnected from your power and potential.
Fear keeps us in a survival state. When fear is high, our intelligence is low. We make decisions from a place of survival instead of from our higher selves. We end up compounding the very fear we're trying to avoid.
Fear is an invitation to rise. Gabby Bernstein says F.E.A.R. is an acronym for “False Evidence Appearing Real." I also love the acronym for FEAR: Face Everything And Rise. When you decide to walk with your fear instead of running from it, you reclaim your power and rise into your potential.
Your fears aren't going to disappear. That's a myth we've been told. We say that we'll take action once the fear is gone. But it's the other way around. Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it's the willingness to act in the face of it. Courage doesn't exist without fear. Courage is feeling the fear, walking with it, and doing the thing you feel afraid to do anyway.
Fear → Freedom
By walking with fear, I've found my freedom. I have made so many decisions that have terrified me, yet have led to my greatest growth and becoming. I’ve gone from being afraid of being seen to podcasting and showing up on social media, using my voice and sharing my truth. I've grown because I chose to face everything and rise.
Beyond Fear
Your fears are not you. You are so much greater than them. The key is to expand beyond the fear rather than contract when you feel fear. When you contract, you amplify the fear and you diminish your own strength and power. Whatever you're afraid of—stepping into your purpose, speaking your truth, being seen—know that your fear is the gateway. Fear is an invitation to lean in and grow. On the other side of it lies your greatest gifts, your power, your purpose, and your potential.
It is time to learn to walk with our fears, rise into our potential, and become who we're meant to be.
What one brave step will you take today to walk with your fear?
