They Almost Killed My Mama: An Unspoken Truth
September was a month full of emotion and challenge. My mama was in and out of the hospital, talking about the end of her life… We had walked this path before just over a year and a half ago. And there is a truth I want to share.
They almost killed my mama. More than once.
There’s a name for it: Iatrogenic Illness. It is the third leading cause of death.
I watched as the medical system — with all is profit centered protocols and procedures — unintentionally drained her life.
They drew too much of her blood, weakening her immune system. They restricted water, when what she needed most was the sacred medicine of hydration.
Protocols replaced presence. Symptoms were silenced. The root was ignored.
With each sterile intervention, her radiance dimmed, her body weakened, her soul drifted in and out of her body. She was on the edge of death more than once.
And yet…
→ God lifted her.
→ She summoned her own will.
→ Food nourished her cells back to life.
→ Love wove her brokenness into wholeness.
From the edge, she returned — resurrected.
And I returned with her — eyes wide open, fiery passion burning, knowing the darker truths we are not taught to speak of. I saw the reverence of a system that is flawed, fallible, and often blind to the very essence of healing.
It is time to tell the truth. To no longer whisper about what we have seen, but to name it, face it, and rise beyond it.
Because I have also witnessed what happens when we remember another way:
→ When we reconnect to our bodies and nourish them with what they were designed to receive.
→ When vitality is cultivated, not stolen.
→ When wellness is embodied, not prescribed.
I have seen radiance restored. I have seen energy return like the tide. I have seen life — true life — bloom again. I saved my mom's life. She was my first client, the first proof of concept of The Embodied Wellness Method.
Mama has been living with me for the past week and a half , something I never considered nor thought I could do. And the truth is I wouldn't have it any other way. I cannot bear the thought of her going to assisted living, we've done that before and it broke my heart – the quality of care and food was appalling. Having her live with me has been the most special and healing experience. So much has transformed in my world since and I know it is activating a new level of power and leadership in me, fueling the vision I have held in my heart to create a Wellness Space where people come to reconnect and heal. I have been able to prepare and cook her meals and healing foods. I am amazed at how incredibly strong and resilient her body and soul are. I am continually reminded of the power of food to heal.
This is why I do what I do. I have witnessed and experienced firsthand what happens when we reclaim our health.
Healing is not meant to feel impossible. Creating radiant health is not meant to feel disempowering. It is meant to be a journey of empowerment, embodiment, and reclaiming your power.
This is why I created Embodied Wellness — a path for women to heal, reclaim their health, remember their power, and rise into their true potential.
Because when we heal from the root, radiant health becomes inevitable.
And when wellness is embodied, life blooms again.
