You Are Not Breaking. You Are Becoming.

I'm writing to you on this beautiful Fall Sunday in New Mexico — a Soulful Sunday — where the land feels quiet, reflective, and peaceful. The kind of day where the air itself feels like an invitation to slow down, breathe deeper, and listen.

Recently, a client shared how much she looks forward to receiving the Wellness Wednesday letters each week. While those emails are filled with practical wellness insights and tools, today I felt called to share something different; something deeper I’ve been contemplating, something that has been supporting me through my own becoming.

It all began with a single sentence I heard recently, one that struck me straight in the heart:

“You are not breaking, you are becoming.”

Those words landed in my body with such truth.

Isn’t it interesting how the moments that feel like they’re breaking us…
are often the very ones shaping us?
Forging us?
Softening us?
Wisening us?

I’ve been in my own season of deep stretching — a season of being tested, of shedding, of feeling parts of myself crack open in unexpected ways. There have been moments when I’ve wondered how I would continue… and yet, somehow, I do. Somehow, I keep rising.
And you do too.

The Breaking Open

What I’m learning is this:

These moments are not meant to break us down or limit us.
They’re here to break us open
to liberate us from who we once were,
so we can become who we are meant to be.

Lately, I’ve been feeling into my journey with a different kind of softness:

Letting go of what was.
Honoring what is.
Opening — tentatively, bravely — to what will be.

In the letting go, there is a space that emerges.
A space many experience as emptiness…
but in truth, it is spaciousness.

A sacred clearing.
A place where what is new and true can finally reveal itself.

In one of those quiet moments of spaciousness, something inside me whispered:

What if breaking open is actually breaking free?

Breaking free from old identities.
Breaking free from patterns that no longer align.
Breaking free from fears that once paralyzed you.
Breaking free from stories that protected you once but now keep you small.

Breaking free is a liberation —
an invitation into a truer, more aligned version of yourself.

The Beginning Disguised as the End

What feels like “the end” is often the beginning of something deeper.

When life cracks you open, it is not to punish you.
It is to prepare you —
to make space for more love, more wisdom, more truth, more power.

The pain is preparation, not punishment.

The breaking is becoming.

Meeting the Deeper You

If you’re in a season of change — in the in-between, the unraveling, the shedding — I want you to know something essential:

You’re not losing yourself.
You’re meeting a deeper version of you.

A version that trusts your own wisdom.
A version that remembers your power.
A version that rises not in spite of the breaking,
but because of it.

I’ve experienced so much change recently that has cracked me open in the most profound way. And yet… beneath it all, I feel a quiet strength forming. A reclamation.
A deep remembering.

The Becoming

If you’re here too — standing at the edge of the unknown, in the tender in-between — breathe this in:

You are not breaking.
You are becoming.

And your becoming is inevitable.
